About Me

I’m a freelance science, health and wellbeing writer based in Derby. I'm nearing completion of an MA in Magazine Journalism at Nottingham Trent University.

I get satisfaction from turning complex ideas into engaging stories that resonate with a publication's audience. Whether I’m writing features, news, or working with audio and video, I aim to make science feel human and relevant.

I care about the representation of science in the media, especially around women’s health and neurodiversity. I enjoy the challenge of finding an overlooked voice or topic and bringing these into the foreground.

My previous careers are adaptations to where I have lived. I have worked in London in publishing production and after moving to the Midlands I retrained as an ecologist. Thankfully the technical age has allowed me to take the reins of science and storytelling into journalism.

Away from the desk I'm likely to be outdoors often with a tennis racquet in hand.
